Results and the Dashboard

A Result is a post in one of your Followed Communities that matched at least one of your Monitors. You work through them on the Results page: read them, save the ones worth keeping, dismiss the rest, and follow a Result's link to join the conversation. The Dashboard shows how your monitoring is going at a glance.

A Result

Each Result is a card showing:

  • the Community's icon, or its first letter when it has none;
  • the Community and the post's title, linking to the exact post or reply in its original thread. A reply shows the title of the thread it's in;
  • whether it's a Thread or a Reply, its author, and when it was posted;
  • the Match terms it matched, and the Tags of the Monitors that matched it;
  • an excerpt of the post, with your Match terms highlighted. It keeps the post's paragraphs and shows up to 4 lines, ending in "…" when there's more.

A post that matches several of your Monitors is one Result, listing every Match term it matched. Results from Stack Exchange also show the credit line its licence requires.

To reply, follow the link and join the conversation yourself, in the Community's own thread. VoxUno never posts for you.

Inbox, Saved and Dismissed

The Results page has three tabs, each showing how many Results it holds:

  • Inbox: every Result you haven't dismissed, saved ones included.
  • Saved: the Results you've saved.
  • Dismissed: the Results you've dismissed. Restore one to put it back in your Inbox.

Save or Dismiss a Result from the top right of its card. Dismissing a saved Result unsaves it.

Results are always newest first, by when the post was posted. There's no other order, and no paging: the page shows your newest Results, so use the filters and search to reach older ones.

Beside the Results, a sidebar narrows them down. From the top:

  • Search: finds Results whose title, excerpt, full text, Community name or author contains what you type, ignoring capitals.
  • Monitor: each Monitor's Match term.
  • Tag: shows Results carrying any of the Tags you tick.
  • Community: your Communities, six at first, then "Show N more".
  • Type: Threads or Replies.
  • Posted: Last day, Last week or All time.

The Monitor, Tag, Community and Type options each show how many Results they'd give you, with your other filters applied. "Clear all filters" appears once any filter is set. On a phone, the sidebar sits behind a Filters button.

The tab and filters you choose are part of the page's address, so a bookmark or a link keeps them, and saving, dismissing or restoring a Result doesn't reset them.

A deleted Monitor isn't in the Monitor filter, but its Results stay and still show its Match term and Tags. Tags explains filtering by Tag.

Read the whole post

When VoxUno has a post's full text and it's longer than the excerpt, press Show more on the card to read all of it, with your Match terms highlighted. Some sites only give VoxUno an excerpt: for those, the card shows "Read the rest on" the Community, linking to the post. Communities says what VoxUno collects from each site.

Posts and comments from Reddit are plain text, without Reddit's formatting marks: no ** around bold words and no > before quotes. A link shows as its text with its address in brackets, such as the migration guide (https://example.com/migrate), or as just its address when that's its text. Each item of a list keeps its own line.

Shared with your team

A Result belongs to your Project, not to you: there's one Result for each post, and its status is shared. When anyone saves, dismisses or restores a Result, everyone in your Project sees the change. Members and roles covers who's in your Project.

The Digest links each Result it lists to its card on the Results page: see The Digest.

The Dashboard

The Dashboard is your Project's first page, and the one it opens on. Any member can see it. Its charts show:

  • Results per day, split by Tag;
  • Results by Community;
  • top Monitors;
  • the inbox count, how many Results are in your Inbox;
  • Followed Community health: how many of your Followed Communities are Paused, Rejected, Pending review or failing.

Each chart leads into the Results page with the matching filters already set, so a Community in Results by Community opens that Community's Results. Communities explains each Community's status.

When your Project is read-only

If your Project becomes read-only, you can still see, filter and search its Results, and see its Dashboard, but you can't save, dismiss or restore Results. See Plans and billing.
