Plans and billing

Every Project has its own Plan, which sets how many Monitors it can have; Communities are unlimited on every Plan. Your first Project starts with a free trial; after that, each Project's Owners choose and pay for its Plan on its Billing tab.

The free trial

Your first Project starts a 14-day free trial, with no credit card. During the trial, it has the Business Plan's Monitor limit, 50 Monitors, and unlimited Communities.

There's one trial for each person: it's for your first Project only, once per verified email address. Any Project you create after that needs a Plan before its Setup opens.

Choose a Plan on the Billing tab any time during the trial. If the trial ends without one, the Project becomes read-only (see below).

Trial emails

Each of the Project's Owners gets two emails about the trial. Both say how many Monitors the Project uses and which Plan fits:

  • 3 days before it ends, one with the date it ends and a link to choose a Plan;
  • when it ends, one saying the Project is now read-only: nothing is collected and no Digest is sent, but its Results, Monitors and Communities are kept. It links to where you resubscribe.

Neither is sent once the Project has a Plan.

Plans and limits

Each Plan allows a number of Monitors:

  • Entry: 5 Monitors
  • Standard: 10 Monitors
  • Advanced: 30 Monitors
  • Business: 50 Monitors

Every Plan comes monthly or annually, and every Plan has unlimited members and every Community we support. Prices are on the Pricing page.

Each Monitor watches for one word or phrase. Excluded terms don't count toward the limit, and nor do Monitors you've deleted. Communities are unlimited on every Plan: follow as many as you like.

When you reach your limit, VoxUno asks you to upgrade before you add more. Nothing is switched off: everything you already have keeps working.

If you move to a Plan with a lower limit than you're using, the most recently created Monitors over the limit are paused, not deleted. You can choose different ones to pause instead.

The Billing tab

The Billing tab, in Configuration, shows your Project's Plan, whether it's on a trial or read-only, and how many Monitors it has against its Plan's limit. During the trial, it says the trial has the Business Plan's Monitor limit.

Owners buy a Plan there, and change or cancel it, through Stripe, our payment provider. Members see the tab, but can't change anything on it.

Choose a Plan

You choose from the plan chooser, on the Billing tab or when a new Project needs a Plan before its Setup opens. It shows how many Monitors your Project has ("You use N Monitors"), and marks the smallest Plan whose limit covers them Fits your usage. If none does, it marks the biggest Plan. With no Monitors yet, no Plan is marked.

If you pick a Plan whose limit is below the Monitors you have, VoxUno warns you first how many Monitors will be paused, and that you'll choose which. A change you make through Stripe pauses Monitors the same way, without the warning.

Change or cancel your Plan

Owners can change or cancel a Project's Plan at any time, from the Billing tab.

Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you've paid for, and the Project keeps working until then. There are no refunds for part of a period: see the Terms of Service.

Failed payments

If a payment fails, Stripe retries it, and your Project keeps working fully while it does. Only if every retry fails does the Project become read-only.

The Grace period

A Project enters its Grace period, and becomes read-only, when:

  • its trial ends without a Plan;
  • you cancel its Plan, and the period you've paid for ends;
  • Stripe gives up on a failed payment.

While it's read-only:

  • VoxUno stops collecting for it, and its Digest stops;
  • every member can still see, filter and search its Results, and see its Dashboard;
  • nobody can change its Monitors, Tags, Communities or Company details, or save or dismiss Results;
  • its Owners see a "Resubscribe" banner.

However long it stays read-only, the Project keeps its Results, Monitors and Followed Communities. When an Owner subscribes again, everything is restored at once and collecting starts again. Your other Projects aren't affected.

One Project per business

A Project is one business you monitor for. If you run several businesses, give each its own Project: each has its own Plan, limits, members and Billing tab, and is billed on its own. Nothing is shared between Projects.

Create another Project with New Project in the Project switcher. Unless it's your first, it needs a Plan before its Setup opens.

Delete a Project

Owners can delete a Project from the foot of the Company tab in Configuration, including while it's read-only. Deleting it:

  • deletes the Project and all its Results at once;
  • cancels its Plan straight away, without a refund for the rest of the period.

Our backups keep deleted data for 30 days, then it's gone. Deleting your user can also delete Projects: see Members and roles.
