Members and roles
Everyone who works in a Project is one of its members, as an Owner or a Member. Roles belong to each Project, so you can be an Owner of one Project and a Member of another. The Project switcher, at the top of the navigation, lists every Project you belong to.
Owners and Members
Whoever creates a Project is its first Owner.
Owners can do everything in the Project, including:
- billing: buying, changing and cancelling its Plan;
- inviting and removing members, and changing their roles;
- the Digest's settings: whether it's sent, and its send time and time zone;
- deleting the Project.
Members can do all the monitoring work: Communities, Monitors, Tags, Results, and the Business Profile on the Company tab. They see the Billing and Email tabs read-only, and the Members tab as a list. Controls a Member can't use are shown, but turned off.
Every Project always has at least one Owner: the last Owner can't leave the Project or be made a Member.
Invite your team
Owners invite people by email, from the Members tab in Configuration. Every Plan has unlimited members, so invite everyone who reads your Results.
An invitation:
- lasts 7 days;
- works only for the email address it was sent to;
- joins that one Project, as a Member.
The person you invite signs in, or signs up if they're new to VoxUno, and joins your Project. The Members tab lists invitations that haven't been accepted yet. Inviting the same address again replaces its open invitation.
Change roles and remove members
On the Members tab, Owners can make a Member an Owner, make an Owner a Member, and remove someone from the Project. Make sure the Project keeps an Owner: the last one can't be made a Member.
Leave a Project
You can leave any Project you belong to, unless you're its last Owner. Make someone else an Owner first, or delete the Project. Leaving doesn't touch the Project's Results, Monitors or Communities, which belong to the Project, not to you.
Delete your user
You can delete your user from Settings, at the foot of the navigation. Deleting it:
- takes you out of every Project you belong to;
- deletes every Project you're the only member of, with all its Results.
If you're the only Owner of a Project that has other members, you can't delete your user until you make another member an Owner, or delete the Project. Deleting a Project also cancels its Plan: see Plans and billing.
Past Staff access
To help you with a support question, our support team can open your Project and see it as one of its members does. That access is:
- read-only: they can look, but can't change anything;
- short: at most 30 minutes each time;
- explained: they must give a reason before they start;
- for support only.
Every time it happens, it's recorded for good. Your Project's Owners see each one, with its reason, under past Staff access on the Members tab.
